Training Requirements

Obtaining a provisional LGV/HGV licence
To commerce an LGV or HGV course you will need a LGV/HGV licence.
For this you must:

  • Be over 18 Years of age
  • Hold a valid car licence
  • Be certified medically fit

All the necessary arrangements including medical appointments, completion of application forms etc, to enable you to obtain your provisional LGV/HGV can be handled by our administrative staff.

Obtaining a provisional PCV licence
To commerce a PCV course you will need a PCV licence.
For this you must:

  • Be over 18 Years of age
  • Hold a valid car licence
  • Be certified medically fit

All the necessary arrangements including medical appointments, completion of application forms etc, to enable you to obtain your provisional PCV can be handled by our administrative staff.

The Theory Test

This is not a written test, the theory test is multiple choice questions. It consists of 100 questions and the pass mark is 85. You will have 2hrs to complete this test.

The Hazard Perception Test

The hazard perception test is delivered on a computer and you respond by clicking the mouse. You will be presented with a series of 19 video clips which feature every day road scenes. In each clip there will be at least one developing hazard. The test takes 3o minutes to complete this test.

The Case Studies

The case studies are scenarios that you may encounter in your working day. You will have 7 different case studies each with between 6 and 8 questions. You will be asked 50 questions and the pass mark is 40. You will have 90 minutes to this test.

The Course

All the courses are tailored to suit the individual. The courses are conducted on a one to one basis with our experienced instructors.
